ASIA – The global flexible packaging market is estimated to reach US$99.1 billion by 2019, fuelled by increasing demand, particularly from the Asia Pacific region.
According to a report by Transparency Market Research, demand for flexible packaging is expected to reach 24,728 kilo tons in volume terms by 2019 from 18,666 kilo tons in 2012 – developing at a steady 4.4% CAGR.
In value terms, the global flexible packaging market hit over US$74 billion in 2013, at an average annual growth rate of about 5%. Amongst all the geographical regions, Asia Pacific accounted for the highest demand in flexible packaging in 2012, boosted by rapid economic development and the growth of various industries such as personal care, food & beverages and pharmaceuticals in the region.
