US – To meet growing demand for deli containers manufactured with recycled materials, Placon Corporation has developed a new line of tamper evident containers made with 100% recycled PETE.
The new deli container product line, Evolutions, features tamper-evident lids with tight-fitting, high performance seals that ensure maximum product freshness.
These easy open/close recyclable containers are made from 100% EcoStar recycled PETE - a material derived from curb side collected PETE bottles – that has excellent clarity for visual impact. The containers are also leak proof making them ideal for cold, ready-to-eat deli foods like pasta salads, fruits and veggies.
To open an Evolutions container, the tab located at the corner of the lid must be bent upward. Once the tab is opened, it stays upright, alerting users that the container’s seal has been compromised.
There are two design options for food processors: a container with a recessed or inside fit lid which allows for secure container stacking, and another which is film sealed with an over cap lid allowing extra room for product per container.
The unique, tamper-evident lid is designed to fit all five square deli container sizes ranging from 8oz to 32 oz – helping retailers reduce inventory as well as maximise shelf space.
“Evolutions establishes a new benchmark for deli containers made with recycled PETE,” said Jeff Lucash, Placon’s National Sales Manager.
“With the Evolutions line we took into consideration the environmental impact of the product, what retailers require to efficiently stock and sell product as well as what entices the consumer to buy. The Evolutions line continues Placon’s tradition of designing packaging that ultimately ensures food looks great and stays fresh, encouraging customers to purchase product time and time again.”
