CHINA – L’Oréal’s largest make-up production center in Asia-Pacific, the Yichang plant in western Chinese province of Hubei, is moving towards reaching carbon neutrality by the end of 2015.
L’Oréal operates 43 plants globally, with three plants located in China (Yichang, Suzhou and Guangzhou). With an investment totalling more than EUR 24 million (RMB 200 million), the 70,000 square metre Yichang plant is L’Oréal’s largest make-up production center in Asia-Pacific, with a production capacity exceeding 210 million products annually for the brands L’Oréal Paris, Maybelline New York, and Yue Sai. About 45% of its production is for the domestic Chinese market, while the remainder is exported to Asia Pacific countries.
