The US labelling specialist has committed to identify and disclose the sources of the pulp, natural fiber and paper in its labelling and packaging materials and solutions, help ensure that its suppliers follow sustainable forest management practices, and evaluate and reward sound environmental performance on the part of its supply chain partners.

Yum! Brands sets sustainable paper based packaging procurement policy

Yum! Brands, the parent company of KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell, has set a new paper-based packaging procurement policy based on sustainable principles.

The company says it has developed sustainable sourcing principles that will ensure the paper and paper-based packaging products it buys do not knowingly come from illegal or other unwanted fiber sources – including wood from high conservation value forests and forests that have been converted to plantations or non-forest use.

Tianjin GreenBio signs PHA supply and distribution deals with US company

Chinese biomaterials company Tianjin GreenBio Materials Co Ltd has confirmed an agreement supplying PHA biopolymers to US’s Metabolix Inc.

In addition, Tianjin GreenBio is expanding its sales markets by appointing Metabolix as exclusive distributor in the Americas, as well as one of its distributors in Europe.
