PHILIPPINES/US – NatureWorks’ distribution and compounding partner in the Philippines, D&L Industries Inc, discusses the market opportunities in the Southeast Asian country for bioplastics.
During the recent Innovation Takes Root conference in Orlando, Florida (18-19 February), PackWebasia.com Editor Trina Tan caught up with Noli Q. Jimenez, Product Manager of First in Colours and D&L Polmer & Colours Inc.
First in Colours and D&L Polmer & Colours Inc were appointed NatureWorks’ distribution and compounding partners respectively in the rapidly growing Philippine market in July 2013. Both companies are subsidiaries of D&L Industries - a Filipino company that customizes and specializes products for the food, plastic and aerosol industries.
Watch this exclusive video interview, as Jimenez talks about how the bans against plastic bags across the Philippines have opened up the market for biodegradable plastics, which are currently used in the country mainly for the production of grocery bags and as coatings for rigid paper containers.
