ASIA - Digital imaging and printing solutions provider Seiko Epson Corporation has launched its Epson SurePress L-4033A digital press in Asia outside of Japan.
SurePress is a versatile short-run digital press and is, according to the Japanese company, the world’s first commercial label press system to use Epson’s high performance Micro Piezo print head technology.
SurePress is designed for label printing firms taking the first steps into digital printing or expanding their existing digital printing capacity, as well as general commercial printers looking to add digital label printing to their portfolio of services.
It prints on a range of off-the-shelf papers and film up to 330 mm wide and at speeds up to 5m/min and fits easily into existing digital workflows. SurePress harnesses Epson's Micro Piezo inkjet technology and newly-developed six-colour, water-based, pigment inks to ensure consistent and high quality results.
SurePress offers a print on demand capability and needs a make-ready time only 15 minutes, which is a significant time saving over traditional letter or semi-rotary press systems that need a minimum of three hours for setup.
Key features of the new product include high quality labels, versatile media support, wide colour gamut, enhanced productivity and less waste.
