PAKISTAN – As part of its move from gravure to flexographic printing, Karachi-based Kompass Packaging has invested €400,000 in a new flexo press from Kodak.
This contract marks the delivery of the first Kodak Flexcel NX Digital Flexographic system into Pakistan.
According to Kompass, this investment is a vital part of its strategy to encourage customers to shift from gravure to flexographic printing.
Hasal Jalil, Kompass Packaging’s Chief Executive said, “98% of Pakistani printing is gravure. Flexographic printing has so many more benefits –it is cheaper, more efficient, and it can produce shorter runs.
“We are giving the market another option.”
Kompass Packaging also purchased Kodak’s Approval digital colour management system and the Prinergy Powerpack workflow software to enable it to expand its digital capabilities.
The new machines are due to be installed at Kompass’s plant in Karachi this August.
