Toppan Printing strengthens flexible packaging business with new plant

JAPAN -
As part of its strategy to strengthen its packaging material business with a focus on flexible packaging materials, Toppan Printing Co Ltd has invested ¥27 billion in the building of a new plant in Japan.

By constructing the new plant, Toppan Printing will strengthen its production structure in the Kanto area of Japan and enable the stable supply of packaging materials with the new plant as a "mother factory" for all its packaging material production plants. The company also aims to expand its packaging material business by providing new technologies and products to growing overseas markets.

Toyo Ink establishes pigments joint venture in India

Japan’s Toyo Ink SC Holdings Co Ltd and India’s Heubach Color Pvt Ltd are establishing a pigments joint venture in Ankleshwar, Gujarat, India.

The joint venture – which company name is as yet undecided – is scheduled to be incorporated in March 2013, and will be located within Heubach Color’s production site in Ankleshwar

Coke bottlers in Japan merge operations

Four Coca-Cola bottlers in the Greater Tokyo region are integrating to form a new entity, Coca-Cola East Japan Bottling Company Ltd.

Coca-Cola Central Japan, Mikuni Coca-Cola Bottling, Tokyo Coca-Cola Bottling and Tone Coca-Cola Bottling, say they expect the transaction to close by 1 July 2013, pending shareowner approval at the Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders of each of the four companies to be held in March 2013.

Eisai Machinery and Bosch Packaging Technology complete merger

Eisai Machinery Co Ltd has completed its merger with Bosch Packaging Technology K.K. in Japan, while the Japanese pharmaceutical company’s units in Germany, China and North America have been renamed to Bosch Inspection Technology.

With this move, Bosch Packaging Technology has completed the next step in the integration process of its subsidiary Eisai Machinery into the worldwide Bosch network. The name Eisai Machinery remains unchanged for the present as a product brand of Bosch Packaging Technology.
