INDIA – Essentra Plc has completed its acquisition of the pharmaceutical packaging business of India’s Kamsri Printing & Packaging Pvt Ltd.
Based in Bangalore, Kamsri is a major manufacturer of premium packaging solutions for the pharmaceutical and healthcare markets in India.
The acquisition, concluded for an undisclosed sum, will help provide Essentra “with an entry point into the attractive pharmaceutical and healthcare industries in India, thereby reinforcing the company’s global packaging capabilities and enhancing the opportunities for customers”, the company said in a statement.
The acquired business unit will now be reported under Essentra’s health & personal care packaging strategic business unit.
Essentra also says it intends to spend up to GBP200 million on acquisitions to more than double its sales from Asia Pacific.
