CHINA – BASF has announced the appointment of a new President for Greater China & Functions Asia Pacific, BASF (China) Co Ltd, in Shanghai.
Dr. Albert Heuser will retire effective 31 December 2015, and be succeeded by Dr. Stephan Kothrade, President of BASF-YPC and Managing Director of Nanjing Verbund Site, BASF-YPC Company Ltd, Nanjing, effective 1 January 2016.
Dr. Stephan Kothrade first joined BASF in 1995, and has been the President of BASF-YPC Company Ltd in Nanjing, China since 2012. Before assuming his current role at BASF-YPC, he headed Plant Operations, Engineering & Infrastructure at BASF in Antwerp, Belgium.
Kothrade also has held roles including Managing Director of BASF in Hungary and Southeast Europe; and global Director of Procurement Inorganic and Specialty Chemicals. He previously worked with the Strategic Planning Department, and in R&D and production roles.
