AUSTRALIA – Italian dairy company Parmalat has completed the acquisition of Fonterra Brands (Australia) Pty Ltd’s yogurt and dairy dessert business in Australia.
The acquisition includes the brands Tamer Valley, Soleil, CalciYum and Connoisseur – the last two through licence agreement – and the production facilities in Echuca, Victoria, and Tamar Valley, Tasmania.
According to Parmalat, agreements to acquire the Ski brand previously licensed by Fonterra within the Australian territory were also signed with Nestle. Parmalat was also granted the license for certain confectionery brands.
Other Fonterra developments in New Zealand
Meanwhile, Fonterra recently celebrated in New Zealand the official openings of a new mozzarella plant at Fonterra’s Clandeboye site near Timaru, along with three new plants at its southernmost site at Edendale.
