INDONESIA – APRIL (Asia Pacific Resources International) says it will no longer develop forested land or forested peatland, putting a stop to deforestation.
Announcing the changes to its Sustainable Forest Management Policy (SFMP), the Indonesian paper giant says it will only develop areas that are not forested, as identified through independent HCS (High Carbon Stock) and HCV (High Conservation Value) assessments, and have a strict “No Burn” policy effective immediately.
