THAILAND – Counterfeits in Thailand are increasingly refilling genuine packaging and containers with fake products, and passing the foods as genuine commodities.
According to Sukontip Jitmongkolthong, a partner in Tilleke & Gibbins International Ltd's intellectual property department, this is a widespread problem with great significance not just for brands but also the issue of consumer safety, particularly as refilled goods in the country do not pass through regulatory standards or quality controls.
