HONG KONG –
Packaging solutions that offer brand owners flexibility in usage as well as product differentiation are being showcased by Ka Lee Polybags Factory Ltd at the Hong Kong International Printing & Packaging Fair.

Ka Lee Polybags is offering an innovative paper laminate & plastic bag solution for companies looking for more sustainable packaging options.

Flexible paper-plastic packaging solutions for product differentiation, Ka Lee Polybags Factory Ltd, Asia packaging, Hong Kong packaging, flexible packagingIntroduced commercially just last year, the Paper Rice Polybag with Plastic is partially transparent (area consisting of three plastic layers – PE/ Nylon/ PE) while the rest of the pack is made up of Paper, Nylon and PE layers.

This packaging concept is available in the form of flexible packs and stand-up pouches, with resealablility options.

Where product promotion is concerned, the bag stands out from conventional ones visually while enabling consumers to view the product contents of the bag. In addition, the bag offers different textural sensations, and the paper surface can be written on.

Explaining why the bag is a more sustainable option, Sharon Chan of Ka Lee said, “We believe that paper is actually more eco-friendly. So we developed this particular bag, replacing one PE plastic layer with paper.

“This reduces plastic material usage, making this bag a more sustainable option.”

Made of three PET/ AL/ PE layers, this packaging solution consists of two compartments: one for a facial mask, the other for liquid products such as skincare gel or serum. The two compartments can be easily separated with a perforated tear.

While there are similar packaged products in the skincare market consisting of two compartments, such packages are mostly single-use.

However, the liquid compartment of Ka Lee’s packaging solution has a recloseable sprout opening, giving brand owners more flexibility in usage.

The company’s solutions are currently on show at Booth 6-A15 at the Hong Kong International Printing & Packaging Fair, which runs from 27-30 April 2015 at AsiaWorld-Expo.
