HONG KONG – The Hong Kong International Printing & Packaging Fair opened on 27 May 2015 at AsiaWorld-Expo with a large number of domestic and international buyers descending on the exhibition in search of packaging and printing solutions for their brands.
Reporting live from the show, PackWebasia.com highlights some of the packaging solutions featured:
Huaihai Packaging Co Ltd (Booth 3-A32) has on display some eye-catching unique retail packaging bags solutions. In particular, the Hangzhou company is exhibiting a range of shopping bags designed to look like fashion apparel – shirts with ties, Mandarin collar shirts, and Mandarin qipao dresses. These innovative bags are secured using the ‘shirt ties’, and ‘cloth buttons’.
The company, which supplies well-known international brands - including Michael Kors, Salvatore Ferragamo, Estee Lauder, Bottega Veneta, TWG Tea, Starbucks, Macys, etc – is also showcasing other attractive shopping bag designs, including glueless options.
Ji Yi Printing Art International Co Ltd (3-B02) is one of Taiwan’s leading manufacturers, with more than 30 year’s experience in printing and packaging. With production and logistics facilities in both Taipei, Taiwan, and Xiamen, China, one of the company’s main core business is designing and producing exquisite gift boxes and premium boxes.
One of the highlights at its booth is a limited edition Hello Kitty box for Chinese smartphone company Meitu. Launched in mid-March 2015, the box demonstrates Ji Yi’s ability to manufacture high-quality boxes for brand owners looking for premium packaging solutions.
Shenzhen HaoChuang Trading Co Ltd (3-E22) is a Guangdong manufacturer of packaging pouches for food, confectionery, personal care and cosmetics, and first-time exhibitor at the Hong Kong Packaging & Printing Fair.
One packaging solution that has attracted international buyers visiting the show is a range of PE/Kraft Paper and PET/Kraft Paper/PE stand-up resealable pouches. By incorporating kraft paper as a flexible packaging material, the pouches project a premium look and is ideal for brands looking to communicate a sustainable image.
Shenzhen From Green Material Co Ltd (3-F06) is exhibiting its edible-grade 100% starch biodegradable foamed packaging, launched three years ago. Produced from a combination of potato, industrial starch and recycled paper, this packaging solution maintains its solid injection moulded shape, has excellent antistatic and good heat insulation properties and can be produced in a range of colours.
When disposed, the packaging degrades in five weeks. If submerged in water, it softens and degrades even faster.
Currently, the material is used to produce packaging interior bases and liners for electronic products, VCD discs, mobile phone and accessories, etc.
Intbox Packaging Company Limited (3-F11) is a folding carton manufacturer and printer from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. One of the packaging solutions it is showcasing at the exhibition is a newly-launched mooncake gift box developed by its in-house R&D department.
Not only is it an eye-catching gift box for the Mid Autumn Festival, the package can be reused after the mooncake product is consumed as a carrying lantern for kids, with a holder inside the converted lantern to contain a candle.
Intbox also has on display a wide range of folding carton solutions for cosmetics, confectionery, food, tea and coffee products, spirits, gifts, and POP retail display stands.
