EUROPE -
Superfos has helped the Benelux based company Remia develop a new plastic packaging for a range of sauces: from hot and spicy to a classic sauce for French fries.

Until now most sauces were sold mainly in round buckets. Now, Remia uses a square customised solution from Superfos in various sizes: 200ml, 280 ml, 400ml, 600ml and 1L – with this new range of sizes and nicer, smoother shape, the product can better attract customers selecting goods at the supermarket.New sauce packaging strengthens market position, Superfos, Remia, packaging, Asia

Logistically, the square packaging shape also means more units can fit in a confined transport container, compared to round packaging units.

One other benefit of the new packaging is the membrane sealing, prolonging the shelf life of the sauce, as well as provide tamper-evident protection.

Remia’s Senior Product Manager Retail Marcos Garcia Moral, explained, “The seal provides for tamper evidence. This offers the consumer security by making it 100% obvious that no one has opened the packaging on the shelf. It is also a benefit for the taste according to our laboratory tests.”
