US crabmeat company redesigns pouch packaging for Europe launch

US crabmeat company redesigns pouch packaging for Europe launch, Clip Creative, Blue Star Foods, Asia packaging, UK
US –
As part of it strategy to enter the European market, America’s largest premium crab meat company Blue Star Foods has launched a new vibrant packaging design that retains the original and familiar brand features while appealing to new consumers.

Clip Creative, a London and Nottingham based creative agency, was tasked by Blue Star Foods to develop the brand and packaging to suit UK and European consumer tastes. The crab packaging project involved turning the original vivid American packaging in to a sleek and clean look that would appeal to the European market. The design also had to incorporate translated versions for the European market.

However, the Blue Star logo, pantone colours and the special Eco-Fresh stand up pouch developed in-house by the brand owner had to remain the same.

Anish Mistry, Managing Director at Clip Creative, said, “Our aim was to create a simple, clean and effective design that would display the six variants of the Blue Star crab meat. The patented pouchUS crabmeat company redesigns pouch packaging for Europe launch, Clip Creative, Blue Star Foods, Asia packaging, UK design did have some limitations but the end result looks amazing and the client was incredibly impressed.

In total, Clip Creative created six variations of the packaging designs for the six different types of crab meat to be marketed in Europe. The agency’s in-house photographer also carried out the product photography for the packaging; the images were then used on the packaging and marketing literature, which Clip Creative also implemented.

“I commissioned Clip Creative to design my packaging as I was very impressed with their knowledge, creativity and passion for the food industry,” said Blue Star Foods CEO John Keeler. “I knew they could deliver stunning designs on time and on budget. I already have another project for them to work on.”
