Indian association calls for increased levies on Chinese printing and packaging machinery imports

Indian association calls for increased levies on Chinese printing and packaging machinery imports, Indian Printing Packing and Allied Machinery Manufacturers Association (IPAMA), Asia packaging, India packaging, China packaging
INDIA/CHINA –
The Indian Printing Packing and Allied Machinery Manufacturers Association (IPAMA) is asking the government to increase the import duties on second hand printing and packaging equipment from China.

While India currently imposes a 27.36% anti-dumping duty on such second hand machinery from China, the association says this levy should be increased by another 10% so as to level the playing field for domestic manufacturers.

β€œThe government must further raise the anti-dumping duty by 10% on import of second hand printing and packaging machines from China,” said C P Paul, IPAMA general secretary.
