SOUTH KOREA – The Korea Trade Commission has recommended imposing anti-dumping tariffs on oriented polypropylene (OPP) films from China, Indonesia and Thailand over the next five years.
The Korea Trade Commission is recommending anti-dumping duties ranging from 3.89% to 25.05% on Chinese OPP film imports, and tariffs of 4.43% to 5.98% on imports from Indonesia. Thai OPP products will have anti-dumping duties of 3.48% to 10.55%.
This recommendation is the result of an anti-dumping investigation launched in January 2013, which found that the combined market share of products from the three countries had more than doubled from 11.5% in 2009 to 24.2% in 2011.
The local market for OPP film was at US$307 million (327.2 billion won) in 2011.
